Detroit is not only a huge city, but also is the current East-coast centre of modern arts, no matter if post-modern, ultra-modern or underground. Art is all over Detroit, which is full of art galleries, art exhibitions all over the city centre. the most important centre of art in Detroit is the Detroit Institute of Arts, which has nationwide and worldwide fame among the different art institutes of the world. Detroit Underground is not only hosting dozens of exhibitions it also offers various cultural activities next to its teaching facilities. the institute is also one of the oldest in the United States, established in 1885.
